For most Chinese test-takers, the speaking section of the new TOEFL exam is absolutely a challenging hurdle. Especially in Task 3, candidates are faced with an integrated test format that requires them to read first, then listen, and finally speak. Although the content revolves around relatively easy-to-understand campus life scenarios, the interlocking steps of the test combined with strict and紧张 time constraints inevitably add various pressures to preparation. In this article, the author will explore the common pitfalls and problems that often arise in each stage of Task 3 and provide corresponding solutions to lend a helping hand to prospective TOEFL candidates.
