The Webb School of California comprises the all-boys' Webb School and the Vivian Webb School for girls, sharing a 70-acre campus. It is a medium-sized private boarding school that offers high school education from grades 9 to 12, with a total student body of 380. The all-boys' Webb School was founded in 1922, while the Vivian Webb School for girls opened its doors to female students in 1981.

The school is co-educational, with nearly a 1:1 ratio of boys to girls. Fifty-six percent of the students are people of color, and 8% are international students, primarily from Europe, Asia, and Africa. Sixty-five percent of the students are boarders. The teacher-to-student ratio is 1:7, with an average of 15 students per class. Ninety percent of the teachers reside on campus.
