Following the official announcement by Lamborghini in Italy that the new model would be named the Gallardo LP560-4, Lamborghini released the official images of the latest top-of-the-line model in the Gallardo series, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4, just before the opening of the Geneva Motor Show.

The name "560" comes from its engine's maximum horsepower of 560ps (552bhp), as well as all-wheel drive. Lamborghini claims that the LP560-4 will replace the standard Gallardo introduced in 2003. The new car features a 5.2L V10 naturally aspirated engine with a maximum output of 560ps and peak torque of 540Nm@3,500rpm; it can accelerate from 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds, reach 0-200km/h in 11.8 seconds, and has a top speed of 325km/h. According to Lamborghini's press release, the new engine is not merely an upgrade of the previous 5.0L V10 engine but instead comes from the Audi RS6 Avant's V10 engine (without turbochargers), meaning that the new engine employs Audi's FSI (fuel stratified injection) technology. Compared to the regular version of the Lamborghini Gallardo, the new car weighs approximately 20kg less.

The CEO of Lamborghini described the LP560-4 as "a remarkable car that significantly enhances quality based on an already outstanding model," expressing a lifestyle of "utter freedom without compromise."
