On May 12, 2008, a Richter scale 7.8 earthquake occurred in Wenchuan County, Sichuan Province, China. This earthquake caused the disaster areas compatriots enormous economic losses and psychological trauma; the disaster was extremely severe. After the earthquake, Jinhu Hankuk Group which owns Jinhu Tire immediately activated emergency response plans, deciding to donate 200,000 USD (approximately 1.4 million yuan) to the disaster areas as well as donating a large amount of necessary living supplies through the Chinese Red Cross to the affected population, enduring the difficulties together with the people of the disaster areas.
