Recently, Kim Hyung Kyun, General Manager of Kumho Tire (China) Sales Co., Ltd., said in a media interview that the high-end energy-saving and environmental protection tire ECSTA KU28 launched by Kumho Tire in April this year has received unanimous praise from the industry and consumers. In response to this, Kumho Tire will, based on the actual situation of China's continuously growing market demand, continue to launch five new specifications of products in this series in September this year, following the introduction of four specification products in the KU28 series in April. After the upgrade of this series of products, there will be a total of 10 specifications of products, suitable for models including BMW Series 5, Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, etc., further meeting the selection needs of consumers.

In 2009, affected by the global economic recession and the pressure of environmental protection, energy conservation and environmental protection gradually became the focus of industry development and transformation, with continuously strengthened policy support. The tire industry, known as the "black gold mine," began to make efforts towards "energy conservation and environmental protection." From research and development to raw material selection, this "black" industry is undergoing a comprehensive transformation to "green."

As a green enterprise, Kumho Tire has always adhered to the "Environmental Management Policy," starting from production standards, scientific research and development, product quality, and environmental protection public welfare. According to the introduction, the power generation project using waste tires (Tire Derived Fuel, abbreviated as TDF) developed by Kumho Petrochemical under the Kumho Hanwha Group entered the commercial operation stage in May this year. This measure expanded the power and steam supply capacity of the system for recycling waste tires. The purpose is to build a system for recycling and reusing waste tires while expanding the power and steam supply capacity. Studies have shown that 75% of a waste tire can be used for power generation in this project, and the remaining materials such as rubber powder and steel can be recycled and reused. This project can handle 14 million waste tires annually, and the electricity generated from 90,000 tons of TDF fuel is equivalent to burning 200,000 tons of coal, demonstrating very significant energy-saving effects.

Kumho Tire uniquely adopted high molecular dispersed silicon formulation environmental protection materials, which can significantly improve the wear resistance of tires while effectively reducing rolling resistance, thus greatly enhancing the fuel economy of vehicles. At the same time, Kumho Tire follows the strictest environmental protection standards in Europe, reducing the use of raw materials harmful to the environment, effectively lowering the carbon dioxide emissions of vehicles, and contributing to improving air pollution and protecting the environment.

Kumho Tire was recommended by Xinhua News Agency as a green environmental protection enterprise in 2008. This year, it was once again favored by the Shanghai Energy Efficiency Center Science and Energy Saving Exhibition Hall due to its excellent energy-saving and environmental protection performance, becoming the only tire brand company for long-term display. The newly launched KU28 tire won the title of "Energy-Saving and Environmental Protection Tire" in the 2009 China Car of the Year Wheel Selection organized by Autohome, receiving consistent recognition from government agencies and major media outlets. General Manager Kim Hyung Kyun stated that environmental protection and energy saving are goals that Kumho constantly pursues. As a member of the automotive parts industry, Kumho Tire will strive to set an example and contribute its share to the environmental protection and energy saving cause of China and the world.
