The baby has hand-foot-mouth disease, coughing and drooling, not to mention a poor appetite. There are also some small blisters in the throat. The most typical onset process is moderate fever (body temperature below 39℃), followed by sore throat. Babies may present with drooling and refusal to eat. Upon oral examination, multiple vesicles can be found on the pharyngeal mucosa, and macules or vesicles also appear on distal parts such as hands and feet. They are generally the size of millet or green beans, round or oval, with erythematous halos around, and no obvious itching sensation.
Some children may also develop rashes similar to perianal skin rash. It is different from chickenpox. Chickenpox rash is mainly on the trunk. The rash of hand-foot-mouth disease mainly appears on the extremities, so parents can make a judgment.
