From May 15 to May 23, within 7 working days, the conclusion of the BMW M6 hit-and-run case was finally reached. After investigation, Nanjing transportation management department found that the driver of the offending car, Mr Wu, was racing with another car on the scene which is so called street racing by the public. Currently, due to endangering public safety by dangerous means, Mr Wu has been submitted to the procuratorate for approval of arrest. Whether the other driver involved in the street racing will be held criminally responsible together was not disclosed by the police. But according to lawyers, based on the amendment of the criminal law implemented on May 1st, those who race under serious circumstances should also bear criminal responsibility and should be sentenced to detention.
