This morning, the much-publicized illegal business operation case of "Big Brother 777" Wang Xiujie was decided in the first trial verdict at the Lvyuan District People's Court in Changchun City, Jilin Province. Wang Xiujie received a three-year prison sentence and was fined RMB 600,000 yuan; the court also ordered the retrieval of his unlawful gains of RMB 205,612.72 yuan, to be remitted to the national treasury. Wang Xiujie, former name: Wang Xiao, web name: Big Brother 777, originally from Changchun City, Jilin Province, was formerly the chairman of Changchun Julong Investment Consulting Science & Technology Co., Ltd. He was detained on July 4, 2007 on suspicion of illegal business operations, and arrested on July 24, 2007. The Lvyuan District Court accepted the case on December 10, 2007 and lawfully formed a panel of judges to hear the case.
