Recently, the top 100 accounting firms in China were announced. In 2008, the total business income of these top 100 firms reached approximately 19.7 billion yuan (accounting for 64% of the industry's total income of 31 billion yuan). This represents a 19% year-on-year increase compared to the 2007 business income of 16.5 billion yuan for the top 100 firms, and is higher than the industry-wide average growth rate of 12%. The effects of the strategy to scale up and strengthen the industry are gradually becoming apparent.
