Fund redemption requires a methodological approach.

Generally speaking, the continuous slump in the performance of existing funds is an important reason for choosing redemption. However, investors should appropriately extend the period of fund examination. Long-term investors giving a fund one year to perform may be the minimum limit, and if possible, two to three years would be better. Long-term observation helps to gain insight into the true quality of a fund. At the beginning of 2007, low-priced stocks were all the rage, and some funds that adhered to value investing were unwilling to follow the trend, resulting in temporarily poor performance. If decisions were made solely based on their performance over a few months at that time, some good funds might have been missed.
