During the May Day holiday in 2006, Jiang Lin found his first part-time job in Wuma Street, Wenzhou - distributing flyers. He distributed flyers on the street for two whole days, earning 80 yuan. Afterwards, a private tutoring trend became popular in school, with everyone becoming part-time private tutors. Jiang Lin was no exception. His first private tutoring job was in Oubei, Wenzhou. From the school to Oubei, he had to first ride a bicycle for more than 40 minutes, then take a ferry across the river, and finally ride another 10 minutes. Each day, he would teach for two hours, earning 20 yuan per hour. Every time, he would set out at around 5 PM and return to school after 10 PM. By November 2007, he had earned a total of 4,200 yuan from private tutoring. The money earned from tutoring, along with some of his own savings, became his first capital for entrepreneurship.
