Aunt Wang holds a photo of her adopted son when he was a child and hopes that those who know the truth can help her son find his biological family.
According to the City Evening News, Aunt Wang is 58 years old and lives in Kuancheng District, Changchun. Nowadays, her husband is healthy, her son has grown up, and she also has a lively 5-year-old granddaughter. One would say that at Aunt Wang's age, it is time for her to enjoy the happiness of family life. However, there is still an unresolved issue in Aunt Wang's heart. That is, this son of hers is not her biological child but was adopted 28 years ago.
Unable to Have Children
Adopted a Son with a Large Head from Jilin City
This matter dates back to 1983. At that time, Aunt Wang and her husband lived in Jiutai City. They had been married for a long time but did not have any children. Later, she went to the hospital for a check-up and was diagnosed as unable to have children. For this reason, Aunt Wang was very troubled, but fortunately, her husband never left her side. To give their feelings a focus, Aunt Wang decided to adopt a child, and thus she asked relatives and friends around her to help make contact.
One day in 1983, Aunt Wang learned from a colleague that there was a one-year-old boy in Jilin City whose family wanted to give him away. So she followed her colleague to Jilin City. It turned out that the woman in Jilin City was not the child’s relative; the child was also adopted by them from elsewhere. However, they were unclear about where exactly they had adopted him from. The only known information was that the child was born in 1982 and lived near Qitamu in Jiutai City. It was said that the father gambled, the mother ran away, and the grandfather gave the child away.
The first time Aunt Wang saw the child, his head was particularly large, much larger than that of an average child, and his body was very weak. He was already 11 months old but could not sit up. However, the woman said that there was nothing wrong with the child. Thus, Aunt Wang took the child home from Jilin City.
Hardship and Struggle
Raising the Large-Headed Son to Become an Adult
After bringing the child home, Aunt Wang took him to the hospital for a check-up. The result showed that the child suffered from congenital hydrocephalus and might face difficulties in daily life. Upon hearing this news, Aunt Wang was very saddened. Many relatives and colleagues advised her to give up on the child, either by giving him away or sending him to an orphanage. However, Aunt Wang felt pity for the child and couldn't bear to abandon him. In the end, Aunt Wang decided that since she had adopted him, she would keep the child.
Thus, this large-headed son became a member of Aunt Wang's family. The hardships of raising the child are beyond words. Moreover, due to the son's frail health, all the income of the couple over the years, aside from daily expenses, was spent on medical treatment for the son.
When the son was nine years old, one day he came running and asked, "Mom, they say I am not your real child, right?" Hearing this, Aunt Wang angrily replied, "Don't listen to their nonsense; you are my real child." Because of this, Aunt Wang later moved the family to Changchun. Aunt Wang said that after treatment, the child's health gradually improved. Since his academic performance was not good, they later let him learn to be a chef. In 2005, they even arranged a marriage for their son, and now they have a 5-year-old granddaughter.
Revealing the Truth
Adoptive Mother Helps Adopted Son Find His Roots
Life passed quietly, and if it weren’t for the quarrels between her son and daughter-in-law, Aunt Wang might never have told her son about his adoption. Until two years ago, during a quarrel between her son and daughter-in-law, a complaint from the daughter-in-law completely shattered the bottom line between mother and son. "Good, good, good, your real mother threw you away and didn't want you." It was then that Aunt Wang realized that her son had grown up and some things could no longer be hidden. Aunt Wang found her son and explained everything about adopting him from beginning to end. "Do you want to know who your biological parents are?" After revealing the truth, Aunt Wang asked her son. "Even if I knew, what would change? I owe you two elders too much; I don't want to hurt you both."
In March this year, due to incompatibility, her son divorced his wife. After the divorce, her originally introverted son became even more disheartened. Seeing her son unhappy, Aunt Wang felt even more heartbroken. She wanted to help her adopted son find his biological parents. "I don't want my son to grow up without knowing who he is and who his biological parents are!" Aunt Wang said.
However, after making this decision, Aunt Wang became very anxious. She didn't want her son to know about this because after such a long time, she wasn't sure whether the child's parents were still alive. She didn't want her son to hold great hope only to end up extremely disappointed.
