According to Xinhua News Agency, an Irish man named Donal Kinsella not only lost his job but also spent three years in disgrace due to allegations of harassing a female colleague while naked during a business trip. According to the UK's Guardian on November 18, Kinsella has finally cleared his name and is expected to receive a compensation of 10 million euros (approximately 90.43 million RMB) from the company that defamed him and forced him to resign, making him the "beneficiary" of the largest defamation compensation in the country's history. Kinsella, 67, worked at the Kenmare Minerals and Energy Company in County Wexford, Ireland before 2007. That summer, he and several colleagues were sent by the company to Mozambique in Africa. However, within a few days of checking into the hotel, Kinsella was found wandering naked in front of the room of the accompanying female secretary, Deirdre, several times at night, and even entered her room. It turns out that Kinsella was a severe sleepwalker and regularly took sedatives to treat his condition. He had no knowledge of the "harassment" incidents that occurred at night. Later, the company hired a lawyer to investigate the matter, and the results showed that Kinsella did not make any inappropriate moves towards his female colleague. Despite this, Kinsella was still indirectly dismissed by the company, and the board of directors held a press conference to publicize Kinsella's behavior of being naked and "harassing" female colleagues in Africa. After nearly three years of litigation, the local court in County Wexford has made a ruling that the company should compensate for the loss of reputation amounting to 10 million euros.
