Believing in the miraculous doctor, more than 14700 yuan turned into waste paper. The police reminded: Don't talk to medical touts, and don't believe in miraculous doctors.

Grandma Li took out the 5700 yuan cash she was carrying and withdrew another 8500 yuan from her bank card, handing it over to Sun. "You wait, I will go and find the miraculous doctor to perform rituals." When Sun returned, he handed a package to Grandma Li, saying, "This is your money. Don't open it before you get home, or it won't work." In the evening, when Grandma Li opened the package, she found that it was all waste newspapers.

After receiving the report, the police of the Zhongshuying Police Station and the plainclothes division locked on three suspects by reviewing the surveillance footage of the area. Meanwhile, two men who had been following the three people in a blue car also caught the attention of the police. After investigation, the police confirmed the identity of one of the men.

Grandma Li thought that the illness in her family might be related to this. With her family's health in mind, Grandma Li immediately asked Sun how to resolve the disaster. "Take out ten thousand or twenty thousand yuan first, lose some money to avoid disasters, ask the miraculous doctor to perform a ritual for you, and then the money will be returned to you."

Five admitted to cheating four times

"Is there a very famous miraculous doctor around here? Do you know where he lives?" On the noon of January 31st, Grandma Li was walking at the intersection of Danxia Road and Cuoyu Road when middle-aged woman Wang approached her asking about the residence of the "miraculous doctor." Grandma Li, who is 68 years old this year, never would have thought that there were such "great people" near the Zongshuying community where she lived.

Police reminder

"At the hospital entrance, if you hear someone say they can help you find a miraculous doctor, don't believe it!" The case-handling police officer told reporters that such cases are not uncommon in Kunming, but they are representative. At the entrances of various large hospitals in Kunming, there are often medical touts loitering around, approaching attendants and claiming they can help find doctors. These people mostly choose elderly people with honest appearances to scam from Monday to Friday. Therefore, citizens should not talk to medical touts when passing by hospital entrances, and even more so, do not believe in miraculous doctors. By our reporter Sun Qin Xia.

"The one ahead is the daughter of the miraculous doctor, I'll go ask if the miraculous doctor is there." Grandma Li followed the two women towards the direction of Huancheng West Road. Suddenly, Li pointed at a woman ahead and said, "Last time, you were so accurate, if it weren't for you, my family probably wouldn't have avoided it..." After a chat between Li and the "daughter of the miraculous doctor" Sun, Sun pointed at Grandma Li and said, "There will be blood calamity in her family."

"The money for the ritual will be returned to you, but don't open it now, or there will be an even greater blood calamity." On the evening of January 31st, Grandma Li, living in Zongshuying Community in Kunming, opened the package and discovered that the originally supposed 14700 plus yuan had all turned into waste newspapers. After investigation, the police of the Kunming Municipal Public Security Bureau Plainclothes Division finally dismantled this five-person fraud gang specializing in scamming elderly people.

On February 13th, eight policemen tracked this blue car to Mayuan Village and found three women in the vegetable market near Fengning Police Station whose physical characteristics matched the suspects captured on surveillance video. Beside them were two men looking around everywhere. Subsequently, the police took the five people to the police station for questioning.

The five confessed that they had committed fraud four times, involving nearly 50,000 yuan, including Grandma Li's money.

Don't believe in miraculous doctors at the hospital entrance

"You're looking for that miraculous doctor, right? I know where he is, I'll take you there." Grandma Li hadn't walked far when "kind-hearted" passerby Li pretended to overhear their conversation and voluntarily offered to take Wang to find the miraculous doctor. "You come along too, let the miraculous doctor calculate things for you. If there's anything wrong at home, he can help you resolve it." Under the invitation of the two women, Grandma Li followed them to meet the "high person."
