British chef Mark Gilbert has created the world's most expensive dessert (pictured left), priced at a staggering £22,000. Mark previously made an exorbitantly priced Easter egg chocolate in 2003 (pictured right). According to foreign media reports on October 10th, the world's most expensive dessert is now available for sale. This dessert, crafted by British chef Mark Gilbert, costs an impressive £22,000 per piece (approximately RMB 219,000). Of course, such an extravagant dessert uses only rare and luxurious ingredients. It features top-grade caviar and Belgium's finest chocolates, with decorations that are equally costly. A two-carat diamond adorns the top of the pastry, while gold leaf accents surround it.
The dessert incorporates four of Belgium's best chocolates, blending flavors of peach, orange, and whisky. The layers of the cake consist of champagne jelly and sponge cake, all wrapped in edible gold leaf leaves. Restaurant manager Stephen Breton said: "Mark's exceptional pastry skills perfectly combine chocolate, champagne, gold leaf, and diamonds. It looks exquisite and tastes wonderful."
It is reported that this dessert's price has surpassed the £15,000 premium frozen chocolate sold by a Michelin three-star restaurant in New York. If someone actually purchases this British pastry, it will be entered into the Guinness World Records.
