Weibo Recommendation | Today's Weibo Hotspots. According to reports, many drivers know that obstructing the license plate will result in a penalty. However, decorating the license plate numbers without actually covering any of them can also lead to punishment? The Nanjing Mobile Traffic Police Team found a vehicle where the license plate numbers were encrusted with "diamonds," resulting in a fine of 200 yuan and a deduction of 6 points.
The mobile traffic team described the situation to reporters yesterday. During an operation on Hou Street near the Yangtze River to check for improperly installed or obstructed license plates, they noticed a white car whose plates were unusually eye-catching. Both front and rear license plates were covered with small white beads, completely obscuring the entire plate. When questioned by the police, the driver gave a response that made the officers both laugh and cry. He said his wife saw someone decorate their plates like this online and thought it was quite "showy." Out of respect for his wife, he spent several hundred yuan online to buy these diamond-like beads and personally attached them to the numbers on the front and rear license plates.
The officer immediately informed him that although it might not currently affect the recognition of the numbers, attaching such items could interfere with electronic surveillance at night if there are any violations, which is essentially equivalent to obstructing the license plate. Following this, the officer educated him and ordered him to restore the original condition of the license plate. According to relevant provisions of the 'Traffic Safety Law,' the driver was fined 200 yuan and had 6 points deducted for deliberately obstructing the license plate.
