In 1942, when she was five years old, Ms. Wei Yunqiu (nee Han Juhua) and her younger brother Han Jinyu fled from Hunan to Guizhou with their mother in order to escape the Japanese soldiers. On a mountain pass in Yaoshan, Libo, they were robbed by bandits, and thus lost all contact with the family. She was then adopted by a local man named Mr. Wei Shunfeng and changed her name to Wei Yunqiu. In 1963, her younger brother who had escaped to Guiyang with their mother re-established brief contact with his sister with the help of various sectors of society. However, in 1965 after the Cultural Revolution, they lost touch again. The siblings were separated across vast distances, and despite many attempts to find each other, there was no news.

During the Spring Festival of 2012, for Wei Yunqiu, aged 75 (originally named Han Juhua), and her brother Han Jinyu, aged 69, it was an especially joyful and warm occasion. After being separated for 67 years and losing contact for 47 years, they were finally reunited with the assistance of the criminal investigation team from the Public Security Bureau of Libo County. They recognized each other and spent the Spring Festival together as a family.

Before the Spring Festival, during the "Three Visits, Three Evaluations" campaign and the deepening of the "Grand Visit" activity aimed at benefiting the people, the Criminal Investigation Team of the Public Security Bureau of Libo County learned about Ms. Wei Yunqiu's story and resolved to help her fulfill this long-standing wish. The detectives employed unconventional methods typically used for major cases, utilizing police intelligence information platforms, capital operations, and online information and intelligence battles. Through the public security information platform, they found over 500 leads (people) within Guizhou Province that met the conditions, and conducted thorough investigations, screenings, and comparisons. There were still ten people with the same name and surname identified as key targets. After photo identification, Wei Yunqiu felt that Han Jinyu, a retired worker from Zunyi Steel Rope Factory, "resembled very much" her long-lost younger brother. Once the target was basically confirmed, the Libo police worked tirelessly day and night, contacting Han Jinyu's son, a teacher at Zunyi Middle School, via telephone. He confirmed that he had heard his father mention having a long-lost aunt in Libo. Thus, after 67 years of searching, Wei Yunqiu's long journey to find her family finally came to a successful conclusion with the great assistance of the Libo County Public Security Bureau's criminal investigation team.
