On the morning of September 28th, at the Lixin County Detention Center, a police auxiliary on duty was suddenly arrested by the police. No one would have thought that this auxiliary in uniform was actually Wang Moujia, a fugitive from Henan Province who had severely injured his wife 10 years ago and fled. Over the past decade, he had worked at various places such as the Lixin County Hospital and gas stations. He even took the examination to become an auxiliary police officer for the county’s public security bureau and entered the Public Security Bureau's security company. Two months ago, he started working as an auxiliary police officer at the detention center. Now, this auxiliary has once again entered his former workplace - the Lixin County Detention Center, only this time, his status has changed from auxiliary to prisoner.
Beating his wife to serious injury, he became a fugitive
According to the police, Wang Moujia, 37 years old, is a villager from Ludian Town, Dengfeng County, Henan Province. In the year 2000, he married his wife Wei Mou. In May 2001, due to trivial matters of daily life, they had a quarrel. Wang Moujia picked up a brick and fiercely struck his wife’s head. After diagnosis by doctors, it was found that Wei Mou had three wounds on her head, with even the smallest wound requiring seven stitches. Forensic experts determined that Wei Mou's injuries constituted serious harm. Despite the doctors' best efforts to save her, Wei Mou was left with aftereffects such as headaches and deafness.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, Wang Moujia fled to avoid legal punishment, disappearing without a trace. The police immediately listed him as a wanted criminal online and began their pursuit. By this time, Wei Mou had already lost all hope in her husband's actions. After being discharged from the hospital, she resolutely filed for divorce, and eventually, the court ruled in favor of their divorce.
Escaping to Lixin to manage prisoners, he became an auxiliary
In recent months, a nationwide "Clear Net Action" special supervision campaign for online fugitive pursuits has been carried out by the public security organs. During the chase, the police unexpectedly discovered that there were two people named "Wang Mouxian" of the same gender, same age, and same ID number in the national population system. Subsequently, the police investigated and found that the two "Wang Mouxian"s worked in Jiangsu Province and Anhui Province respectively. Among them, the "Wang Mouxian" in Jiangsu was the older brother of the wanted criminal Wang Moujia, while the "Wang Mouxian" in Lixin, Anhui, aroused the suspicion of the police.
On the morning of September 28th, with the approval of the Dengfeng Municipal Public Security Bureau, officers from the Ludian Police Station came to Lixin County, Bozhou City, to investigate this matter. With the cooperation of the Chengguan Police Station officers in Lixin County, the investigators quickly found out that "Wang Mouxian" lived in a residential area on Wuyi Road in Lixin County. Surprisingly, the residents of the neighborhood confidently said that "Wang Mouxian" was a prison guard and currently worked at the Lixin County Detention Center.
The astonished police immediately went to the Lixin County Detention Center for verification. In the detention center, the investigating officers quickly found the man in uniform named "Wang Mouxian." After comparison, it was confirmed that this man was indeed Wang Moujia, who had been on the run for 10 years. The investigating officers immediately proceeded to arrest him. During interrogation, Wang Moujia confessed that during his time in Lixin, he had always hidden under his brother's name, "Wang Mouxian." Two months ago, upon someone's introduction, he was arranged to work as a prison guard at the detention center.
Fugitive enters the detention center, he changes his "identity"
Yesterday afternoon, I contacted reporter Han Jingwei from the Henan Daily Newspaper. He told me that during his interviews, he learned that Wang Moujia was not a formally compiled police officer of the Lixin County Public Security Bureau but rather a "temporary worker" recruited through the Lixin police channel in 2008. After entering the Lixin Public Security Bureau, Wang Moujia first assisted the police in local police station cases and then started working at the detention center two months ago.
Last night, a staff member of the Lixin County Public Security Bureau revealed to reporters that the fugitive Wang Moujia initially worked at the Lixin County Hospital, then as a security guard at a gas station, and later participated in the auxiliary police recruitment exam to enter the Lixin County Public Security Bureau's security company.
Regarding how a fugitive could be recruited into the public security system without ever being detected, the responsible person stated that they are organizing an investigation.
