Working an extra night shift on Friday forced me to plan my mountain climbing for Saturday. I made plans with Dayu and Shenhu, but things were a bit confusing. When Hu said he had reached Changling, I was still at Xiling. When I reached Yantian, I actually thought he was behind me. After waiting with Dayu for a while, I called him and found out he had already started climbing the mountain. I had originally boasted about catching up with him, but as it turned out, I got slower and slower, unable to catch up.
The first kilometer went relatively smoothly, the second kilometer was manageable, but by the third kilometer, Dayu started acting lazy, wanting to sit down every time we stopped. He seemed better after drinking some milk, and I was able to keep up with his pace somewhat. Despite this, it took us 3 hours to reach the summit. On the way down, his speed wasn’t bad. My溯溪shoes (stream crossing shoes) were a bit uncomfortable due to new insoles. Surprisingly, Dayu kept up, even though there was only a little bit of jogging involved. It took us 25 minutes to descend Hero Slope, 1 hour to reach Xiaowutong, and 1 hour and 5 minutes to get to Liantang.
