During the inquiry, a gambler told the police that he had once been in contact with a gambling gang. This gang had a rule: you needed hundreds of thousands of yuan in cash to enter the gambling site. Moreover, they usually did not allow unfamiliar faces to enter. They had 20-30 regular gamblers and frequently changed their gambling locations in Hangzhou, Jiaxing, and Huzhou areas. On August 1st, the Yuhang police transferred the case file, which was 1380 pages long, to the Yuhang District Procuratorate, marking the downfall of this crime group that the police referred to as the "biggest gambling ring in Hangzhou, Jiaxing, and Huzhou."

In one and a half years, they made over 7 million yuan from the rake. In a single gambling session, a construction boss lost the most, losing over 2 million yuan in one night. Meanwhile, Lu and his associates raked in over 500 thousand yuan from that gambling session. Currently, the police have verified that Lu and his associates have made over 7 million yuan from the rake, but this might only be part of it.

To quickly understand the situation of this mysterious gambling king, the Yuhang police immediately gathered all the captured gamblers in the district to gather information. Due to Lu's avoidance of the main issues during the review, he only admitted to the gambling case in Haining on the day of his arrest, refusing to confess to other cases, causing the case to reach an impasse. In December 2009, the Haining People's Court sentenced Lu to one year in prison, suspended for one year.

Since July 2008, Lu and others had organized more than 130 gambling sessions at 47 different gambling dens in the Hangzhou, Jiaxing, and Huzhou areas.

At this time, two other important suspects in the gang, Tong and Zhang, were criminally detained by the Yuhang police on suspicion of extortion. After several days of investigation, both confessed to organizing gambling with Lu and provided information about other members of the gang.

A tip-off letter from a gambler uncovered a hidden underground casino that had been operating for a long time.

On March 22nd this year, Lu was arrested by the police.

During the Spring Festival this year, the police discovered that after recovering from his foot injury, Lu became active again, closely interacting with over ten people who were already on the police's arrest list.

According to him, he recalled that when he gambled once, the man who picked him up was surnamed Tong.

Originally, Lu was caught by the Haining police for gambling. During the arrest, Lu jumped directly from the second floor, breaking his leg.

This gambling gang has been roaming between Hangzhou, Haining, and Huzhou since July 2008, engaging in organized gambling activities. During this period, they changed gambling sites 47 times, organized over 130 gambling sessions, and made over 7 million yuan from the rake.

To avoid alarming the suspects prematurely, the police did not act hastily. However, by August 2009, this underground casino suddenly went quiet, and Lu disappeared.

Tong was definitely not the organizer of the casino; he was at most a lackey.

Early last year, the Yuhang Public Security Bureau's anti-crime action team received an anonymous letter, detailing the confession of a gambler.

Simultaneously, this group of gamblers also provided free ice drugs as bait to keep the participants gambling for extended periods.

After a year and a half of searching for the "gambling king,"

A bankrupt gambler wrote a letter to the Public Security Bureau:

"I lost everything in the casino, and yesterday I lost another 2 million yuan, accumulating a large amount of debt. Tomorrow, I will flee to another place. The casino where I gambled is run by a gambling king surnamed Lu. He organizes us to gamble in Yuhang, Huzhou, and Haining. In the casino, if you win 10,000 yuan, he takes a few hundred yuan as a fee. He is the only true winner. Please go and catch him quickly."

Each time they gambled, Lu and his associates never joined in, relying solely on the rake for profit.
