Being born in a certain place is quite important. 20 years ago, I spent time in remote and isolated villages in northern Shaanxi, where I met many healthy, handsome, especially intelligent teenagers. At the time, I thought that if they were born in a suitable place, they would surely accomplish great things, and no matter what they did, they would certainly achieve extraordinary success. But in poor and remote areas, just having enough to eat was already a rather glorious achievement, how could there be any extra strength to indulge in thoughts of culture? They had no opportunity to go to school, no books to read, no access to newspapers or television, and rarely even got to see movies. Not knowing about the outside world, they could only follow the old ways of their ancestors, working from sunrise to sunset, day after day, year after year. Then they married, had children, started families, and exhausted their talents, becoming simple men without dreams. Then, like their fathers before them, they grew old, with only the monotony of time leaving its inevitable mark on them. Then, they listened to death's random arrangements with fear, prayer, and panic. And then, if that place hadn't changed, their children would inevitably blunt their dreams in the same way, generation after generation completing the same process. I hope my next life will not be like this. So, being born in a big city, in a noble household, with a father who is a successful president, or a billionaire tycoon, or a renowned scholar, or parents who are all extraordinary figures, growing up in an environment of excessive adoration and flattery, facing a carefree reality, a brilliant future, endless opportunities, and a smooth path... Is this good? In general, such circumstances are also a kind of disability, also a kind of cage. Such circumstances often produce fools, with little probability of not being stupid, a low proportion of making achievements, and most girls with some level of ability refuse to pursue such people. Being born in a remote countryside carries the risk of ignorance, which is not good; being born in a noble household has the danger of arrogance and folly, which is also not good. How about being born in a position between these two extremes? Hmm, it might be good.
