The car driver was knocked unconscious by the airbag.
Near the intersection of Heyu Road and Langxi Road, Ms. Fang, who is in charge of guarding the railway crossing, and a female sanitation worker both witnessed the accident.
"The entire left side of the car's front and the driver's seat were completely deformed. The driver was trapped inside, unable to move or get out, and he had already fainted. It looked very dangerous," Ms. Fang told reporters.
Afterwards, officers from the Yaohai Traffic Police Brigade also arrived at the scene, and the specific cause of the accident still needs further investigation.
"At the time, there were many onlookers at the scene, all scared and not knowing what to do. It was the truck driver who reacted first, rushing forward to try and save the person," said Ms. Fang.

Everyone worked hard to rescue the car driver.
Ms. Fang said that the truck driver first tried to forcibly pull open the car door, "Without tools, he just used his hands to pull, but the car door was so deformed, it was impossible to pull it open." Then, the truck driver anxiously reached out to pull Mr. Ren, "Perhaps fearing that he would suffocate from being trapped."
Mr. Ren did not know that due to the violent collision, the blue truck's front end was severely damaged, the cab tilted forward, making it difficult to return to normal condition. His car was almost unrecognizable after the collision.
At around 7:30 on November 17, near the intersection of Heyu Road and Langxi Road, a Toyota car collided head-on with a truck. The car's front was severely deformed, and the driver was trapped inside, unconscious. Afterwards, the truck driver actively helped rescue the trapped victim, and passers-by also joined the rescue team. Through everyone's joint efforts, the victim was rescued in time and fortunately suffered no major injuries.
Upon seeing this, the onlookers also came forward to help, and Ms. Fang and the sanitation worker joined the rescue team. "Some people pulled the car door, others followed the truck driver in pulling the injured person, but despite great effort, they were unsuccessful." Finally, the truck driver remembered there was a shovel in the vehicle, which was fetched, and together with everyone else, they managed to pry open the car door, rescuing Mr. Ren. The onlookers then helped call 120 and sent the injured person to the hospital for treatment.
From appearances, Mr. Ren did not have any obvious external injuries and was somewhat conscious. However, having just escaped danger, he seemed somewhat dazed, "I was just passing through the intersection when suddenly I collided with that truck." Mr. Ren recalled the moment of the incident. Mr. Ren said that after the collision, the airbag in the car deployed and then instantly exploded. He was hit by a powerful airflow and immediately lost consciousness. When Mr. Ren regained consciousness, he found himself lying in the hospital, "My head hurts, my whole body aches, and my clothes are all torn."
Around 7:30 on November 17, Ms. Fang, the guard at the railway crossing, received notice that a train was about to pass as she prepared to lower the restricted passage barrier. Suddenly, she heard a loud bang - not far from the railway crossing, a blue truck collided head-on with a Toyota RAV4. "The fronts of the two vehicles were pressed against each other, and smoke was coming out of the car's hood."
Mr. Ren was the driver of the Toyota car. After being freed from the car, he was sent to Hefei No. 2 People's Hospital. Around 10:00 AM, when we saw him in the emergency room, he had just regained consciousness and was lying on the bed receiving intravenous fluids.

At the time of the incident, a female sanitation worker was sweeping near the intersection where the accident occurred. She saw the Toyota car speeding towards the intersection from north to south. By the time the truck realized it was about to collide with the car, it was too late to stop. The two vehicles collided head-on. The sanitation worker shook the glass in her basket and added: "The car's front was completely crushed, basically disintegrated. The window glass was almost all shattered, scattered everywhere."
