The impact of the clear brain slices on brain memory and anti-aging mechanisms: The tablets can improve the levels of Glu in the cortex and hippocampus of aging model rats, reduce the levels of GABA in the striatum, indicating that the clear brain slices can regulate the content of central excitatory amino acids and inhibitory amino acids. Glutamate and aspartate are the two major excitatory amino acids, involved in regulating excitatory synaptic transmission and synaptic plasticity in developmental processes related to learning and memory formation. GABA is a central neurotransmitter with inhibitory effects; GABA receptor (GAP-) antagonists can improve memory consolidation disorders and alcohol-induced memory retrieval obstacles caused by sodium nitrite. Clear brain slices regulate the levels of brain amino acid neurotransmitters, thereby facilitating synaptic transmission, promoting information access, and consolidating memory, particularly through increasing Glu and Asp levels in the hippocampus, which plays an important role in promoting learning and memory. At the same time, we found that large and small doses of clear brain slices improve memory in aging rat models and have similar effects on the activities of SOD, CAT, and free amino acids, with significant differences (P > 0.05). In short, clear brain slices possess anti-aging and memory-enhancing effects on the brain, primarily by increasing the ability of antioxidant enzymes to eliminate free radicals and improving the content of central excitatory amino acid neurotransmitters while reducing the level of inhibitory amino acid neurotransmitters, thus enhancing brain function in multiple ways.
