Lujiazui Forum 2008 Opens

The first "Lujiazui Forum" will be held in Shanghai from May 9 to May 10. The opening ceremony of the forum was held this morning, attended by Vice Premier of the State Council Wang Qishan, who also made a speech. The theme of this forum is "China Finance in the World Pattern". It is co-organized by the People's Bank of China, China Banking Regulatory Commission, China Securities Regulatory Commission, China Insurance Regulatory Commission and Shanghai Municipal Government. Zhou Xiaochuan, governor of the People's Bank of China, and Han Zheng, mayor of Shanghai, are the joint chairmen of the first forum.
