Sophomore guard Casey Walker scored a game-high 21 points, while junior forward Marques Oliver and senior guard Jay Threatt added 16 and 10 points respectively, helping Delaware State secure a 63-46 win over Howard University in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) men’s game on February 25 at Memorial Hall in Dover, Delaware. The game was the regular-season finale for the Bison, who will have a break before starting play in the MEAC Tournament scheduled from March 5 to March 10 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

The Hornets (14-12 overall, 11-3 MEAC) quickly took an early 27-13 lead thanks to Walker's three-point shooting. At halftime, the Hornets led 30-23. In the second half, the Bison (9-20 overall, 6-10 MEAC) mounted a comeback, using a 10-2 run to take their only lead of the game at 33-32 on two free throws by freshman guard Simuel Frazier at the 14:59 mark.

Delaware State, which has won 10 straight conference games, responded with a decisive 26-8 run over an eight-minute stretch to seal the victory. Walker, Oliver, and Threatt again dominated, scoring 22 points among them in the second half.

For Howard, freshman guard/forward Prince Okoroh and sophomore center Alphonso Leary each scored 13 points. Howard shot 33 percent (15 of 45) and missed 11 of 12 from the three-point line. Despite winning the rebounding battle 35-22 and scoring more points in the paint (26-18), Howard was thwarted as Delaware State blocked 11 shots and scored 20 points off Howard turnovers.
