Our village is at the foot of the mountain, but unfortunately, my home is on the last row of the village's edge, and there are wild fields all around the village. Every winter after the trees shed their leaves, there is nothing in the vast open space except for the wheat close to the ground; there is no other clutter. Not far from our house, there is a field called "Lingyuan" (Cemetery). When I was very young, I didn't know what it meant, and the local dialect pronunciation wouldn't make you think of the characters "Lingyuan." Later, when I realized that next to this field was a large graveyard belonging to the Wang family, I finally understood. And during the winter, when there were no crops to conceal it, I could see the rough outline of this cemetery from my doorstep. Therefore, my father and brother also suffered as a result: one had to stand in the courtyard at night waiting for me to use the restroom, while the other had to accompany me to lock the gate at night. That's why I generally don't dislike men who smoke, because when my dad waited for me outside, he would keep smoking, and I worried that if he didn't smoke, he might not have enough patience to wait for me.
