More than half of men and women can accept "semi-naked marriage" regarding family relations after marriage. 46% of women are concerned about the "mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship," while 44% of men claim they are completely "not afraid" of their mother-in-law.
The survey shows that 82% of women believe that a "good man" primarily means "having a sense of responsibility;" on the other hand, 55% of men think that the primary quality of a "good woman" is "being well-educated and courteous." Moreover, according to the survey, the rate of Sichuan men having or having had a "close female confidante" is as high as 74%, the highest among all provinces. On a national scale, the average rate also reaches as high as 69%.
This survey report involved a total of 75,185 participants, including 42,535 women and 32,650 men, accounting for 57% and 43% respectively. The sample was mainly composed of people born in the 1980s, with those aged between 23-32 making up nearly 70%; people with a bachelor's degree or higher accounted for 47%.
Emotional expert Gong Haiyan believes that "close female confidantes" are sensitive topics in marital life. However, in a mundane married life, men often have troubles related to their own dignity, image, and self-respect which they are unwilling to confide to their wives. At this point, the appearance of a close female confidante satisfies their psychological need for venting.

Can one get married without a car or a house? How should one view the "mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship"? What causes remaining single? On the eve of Valentine's Day, the "2011-2012 Investigation Report on Chinese Men and Women's Marriage and Love Views" initiated by Jiayuan.com, China's largest matrimonial website, was officially released. The results show that when it comes to the relationship between "marriage and love," men yearn for more care. In Sichuan, the rate of men who have or have had a "close female confidante" is as high as 74%, the highest among all provinces.
The survey indicates that influenced by factors such as the national economy, citizen morality, social concepts, and science and technology, the views on marriage and love among Chinese men and women are also undergoing changes. Many of these views are either completely opposite to or significantly different from traditional ones. For instance, on the material level, 77% of men and 61% of women can accept "semi-naked marriage." Respondents also expressed that although they currently lack cars and houses, they have the ability to prepare them within five years, and they are willing to marry with a commitment. However, 15% of women cannot accept this state at all, while this proportion only accounts for 7% among men.
