Zhang, a company director, met an online acquaintance Liu through a matchmaking website while his wife was pregnant. Liu, seeing that Zhang was in his early thirties, wealthy, and successful in his career, quickly developed a romantic relationship with him, during which they had sexual relations multiple times. Subsequently, Liu asked Zhang to buy her a house and a car. Zhang, feeling that Liu was too materialistic, proposed breaking up. However, Liu was not willing to let go. After the breakup, Liu found a pregnant woman on the internet and, under her own name, obtained a seven-week ultrasound diagnosis report from a private hospital. She then lied to Zhang, claiming she was pregnant and expressed her intention to settle down with him and have the child. Zhang, wanting Liu to have an abortion, sent her 50,000 yuan as compensation.

Afterward, Zhang stopped contacting Liu. Feeling deceived, Liu believed Zhang was trying to dismiss her with just 50,000 yuan and demanded an additional 300,000 yuan via text message. Simultaneously, Liu also sent messages under the names of her father and sister, demanding another 100,000 yuan from Zhang for compensation. When Zhang remained unresponsive, Liu impersonated Zhang’s assistant and went to his home, lying to the maid that there was an urgent matter and she couldn’t reach Zhang, thus obtaining the phone number of Zhang’s wife. From this point onward, Liu repeatedly sent text messages threatening to expose their improper relationship and pregnancy. She even wrote about their affair on Zhang's front door, threatening to disclose everything to his wife and workplace if he didn't pay. Helpless, Zhang agreed to give her money but kept delaying. In response, Liu posted their affair on Weibo. Fearing further exposure, Zhang contacted Liu, asking her to delete the Weibo post and agreed to pay her 100,000 yuan as compensation. Meanwhile, Zhang reported the incident to the police.

On December 20th last year, Liu was caught by the police at the designated location after receiving 100,000 yuan from Zhang.

Reported by our staff (reporter Sun Siya, correspondent Lin Hui): The "third party," Liu, after being dumped, issued a fake pregnancy certificate and spread information about their improper relationship on Weibo to extort money from the married man. It was learned yesterday that the Haidian Procuratorate has approved the arrest of Liu on charges of extortion.
