The activity of Beijing Outward Bound training is gradually being embraced by more and more teams. This experiential training has gained everyone's favor. People in outward bound activities appear to be so cheerful and innocent, as if they have returned to their childhood. I remember during the training at the Huairou District Procuratorate, there was a 59-year-old leader who was really worth our learning from. He looked very robust, which must be related to his regular physical exercise. When he participated in the trust fall project, I watched him throughout the process. It was really impressive! This outward bound project requires one to stand on a platform that is 1.4 meters high, face forward, and fall backward straight down, landing perfectly in the protection formed by our team members, then gently lowering down. This participant performed particularly standardly, with his entire body remaining completely straight. Falling straight back is the perfect movement for this outward bound project, and he achieved it. Many young people couldn't do it as perfectly, and it's worth learning from!
In fact, doing this project reflects this person's character and ability. This is a 59-year-old senior employee, and just by daring to attempt this project, he stands out. Because many young people are hesitant when it comes to this outward bound project. It can be seen that this elderly employee must be serious and rigorous towards things, and has great courage. Through participating in outward bound training activities, everyone reveals their true demeanor deep inside, expressed naturally and sincerely.
There was another time during a scenic area outward bound. The participants were doing rappelling, an outward bound project with great challenges. The rule is to wear protective equipment and descend from a dam that is 20 meters high to the ground. Just hearing about it makes one feel timid, let alone the actual experience of standing on top and descending. Now, I still have a deep impression of a female participant. The reason is that she stood at the starting point and dared not take a single step down. After multiple guidance from the coach, she finally took the first step, but then stopped descending further. As a result, she remained stuck at the starting point, unable to go up or down. I remember her crying. In the end, it was the coach's words that played a bigger role, and she finally descended to the ground.
Why do we say that the performance in outward bound training reflects the true emotions of the participants? The entire activity eventually needs to tally scores because this participant didn't want to lose points for her group. So, even though she was scared, she made efforts to earn this point. Her tears were worth it. It fully demonstrated this participant's strong sense of collective honor.
Quiet contemplation, active expression, timid crying, loud laughter, etc., reveal various expressions during different outward bound training projects. This is a pure manifestation, a natural exposure. Relaxing the mind and body, showcasing oneself, outward bound training brings us more benefits. I suggest everyone actively participate in outward bound training.
