The first time I heard the name of the Bashang Grassland was in 2005. At that time, I had just graduated from university and started my first job at an outdoor expansion company. After completing the internship period and working for three months, I thought I understood my work thoroughly. So, I took the initiative to volunteer to the manager of the training department, hoping to get a chance to lead a team. Even if I couldn't be the leader, being an assistant to the Beijing expansion team leader would also suffice. Looking back now, I should thank my leader at that time. If he hadn't agreed to my request, I might not have known the grassland so early, this place that makes me linger and forget to return, full of vitality and greenery. There, you can feel the most simple folk customs and also experience the natural scenery far away from the city. You can ride horses or indulge in eating delicious roasted lamb.
Bashang Grassland is a place that many grassland enthusiasts yearn for, and it's also the closest natural large grassland to Beijing. Every year, there are many Beijing tourists visiting the Bashang Grassland. In recent years, our outdoor expansion teams from the company have also moved there, with an increasing tendency.
When I first joined the current company, I heard colleagues talking about how lucky they would be if they could lead more groups to Bashang. They said they'd rather earn less bonus as long as they could go. Hearing this for the first time, I couldn't believe my ears. Isn't work all about earning more money? Are there people who would rather not make money just to go to a good place? Is there gold on the grassland that can be picked up at will? With these doubts, I could only smile, but the name "Bashang Grassland" was deeply imprinted in my mind. A few days later, after a day of very light work, I remembered the name mentioned by my colleagues and decided to look it up online. Online research showed that Bashang Grassland is indeed a very beautiful place. As far as the eye can see, mountains and fields are covered with green, boundless green. This gives us who often traverse rugged mountain gullies a very comfortable feeling. The cattle and sheep grazing on the grassland are as peaceful and beautiful as in a painting. At this point, I made up my mind that if I got the chance, I must personally lead a team to Bashang.
Not long after volunteering to lead a team after my three-month internship, one day the leader called me in and asked me many questions, mostly about the duties of a leader and precautions. Thinking that the opportunity might be coming, I answered patiently and in detail. By the end of the conversation with the leader, I was already sweating profusely, anxiously waiting for the leader's decision. Fortunately, the leader was satisfied with my performance at work and the results of our conversation. He decided to let me and another colleague from the company go to Bashang Grassland in a week to lead a wilderness crossing team. Of course, due to my lack of experience, I could only be the assistant to the leader. Even so, it was quite unexpected for me, so I prepared immediately, looking up information online and seeking advice from colleagues... Waiting for the trip to Bashang seemed as long as a year. A week later, the trip to Bashang Grassland was successfully carried out.
