I. Analysis of leakage causes:

1. Foundation reasons: Insufficient consideration during foundation treatment has resulted in inconsistent settlement coefficients, causing one side of the expansion joint to be higher and the other lower.

2. Design reasons: The waterproof design of the expansion joint is too simple, leading to failure to meet stretching requirements.

3. Selection of waterproof sealing materials: The original waterproof sealing material was a common type of sealant with low anti-aging and stretch performance, resulting in the aging and cracking of the waterproof layer.

II. Leakage control plan for engineering

III. Selection of waterproof materials:

1. 50x50mm water-expanding waterstop strip (compliant with GB/T18173.3-2002 standard). This product has the sealing waterproof function of elastic joint waterstop materials. When the distance between the two sides of the joint exceeds the elastic recovery rate of the elastic waterproof material, due to its water-expansion characteristic, it can still serve as a waterstop within the material's expansion range. The expanded body retains rubber properties, making it more water-resistant, acid-resistant, and alkali-resistant. It is widely used in underground railways, tunnels, and concrete construction joints, expansion joints, and cracks.

2. Two-component polyurethane sealant (compliant with JC482-92 standard). This sealant consists of an A component containing isocyanate groups (NCO) and a B component containing curing agents, reinforcing agents, adhesion promoters, and fillers. When mixed at the specified ratio, it undergoes a cross-linking reaction to solidify into an elastic, strong, and highly adhesive sealing material. This product is mainly used for sealing in building settlement joints, expansion joints, construction joints, airport runways, and bridges.
