After two days of deployment, on the morning of February 7th, the Tongdao police determined Wu's location: he was at Yatunbao Train Station, possibly preparing to board a train heading to Guangxi. The Yatunbao Police Station immediately deployed control measures at the station, and criminal investigation officers from the Tongdao County Public Security Bureau also rushed to the scene.
The suspect was restrained just as he was about to draw his gun.
Changhua police reported this case yesterday. Currently, the suspect has been handed over to Guangxi police. The most audacious move by the criminal suspect was that after committing murder in Guangxi during his escape, he even called the local police to challenge them - "You can't catch me."
On February 1st, Wu, a 36-year-old from Sanjiang County, Guangxi, used a homemade firearm to kill Zhang in his home and injured Zhang's grandfather. On February 5th, Wu escaped to Tongdao County by climbing onto a freight train. After receiving an assistance request from the Sanjiang County Public Security Bureau in Guangxi, the Tongdao police immediately set up checkpoints to capture him.
An Officer Tricked Him into Writing a Self-Criticism
At this point, the criminal investigation officers had already quietly surrounded the office, seizing the opportunity to arrest Wu.
Reported by journalist Zhang Xiang
Wu hadn't even started writing the self-criticism when he suddenly got up and walked out, clearly sensing something amiss. The officers quickly blocked him. Wu reached into his coat, where his gun was hidden in his clothes. Officers swarmed forward from behind and tightly controlled him. They then searched him and found a fully loaded homemade firearm, ready to fire, along with a restricted knife, some gunpowder, and iron sand.

Wu is from Santuan Village, Bayang Township, Sanjiang County, Guangxi. He told the police that he met his wife through a relative named Zhang. After they married, Zhang kept inciting his wife to argue with him, and his wife even wanted a divorce. At around 6:00 PM on February 1st, Zhang came to argue with Wu again. Wu took out his homemade firearm and shot Zhang. After Zhang fell, Wu also shot Zhang's grandfather in the face, causing severe injuries. Subsequently, Wu hid on a mountain.
Before his capture, he had planned to return home to continue killing.
Around 11:00 AM, a police officer from the Yatunbao Police Station first spotted Wu. He was trying hard to climb onto a train. Since the suspect had a gun, to avoid alarming him, the officer cleverly said to Wu: "Climbing onto the train is wrong, come to my office and write a self-criticism." This confused Wu, and he followed the officer into the station office. The officer then took out a piece of paper and a pen, pretending to let him write a self-examination.
"Our interrogation revealed that he admitted: climbing onto the train to return to Guangxi was to go back and continue killing," said Ma Renkun, captain of the Criminal Investigation Team of the Tongdao County Public Security Bureau, while disclosing the latest information obtained from the initial interrogation yesterday afternoon.
"Guangxi Sanjiang police conducted continuous searches on the mountain. Wu could see the activities at the foot of the mountain from the top. After hiding for several days, he called the police and said: 'Stop searching, I can see you, you can't catch me.' " Ma Renkun said: "On February 5th, he climbed onto a freight train and fled to Changhua, hiding in the station for two days without moving. By February 7th, he planned to climb onto a train returning to Guangxi to continue his killing spree."
