**Exhibition Introduction:**
The 7th Pakistan Auto Show was held from March 28 to March 30, 2011, covering an area of 6,000 square meters. Exhibitors from over 20 countries participated, including Japan, South Korea, Germany, the UK, the USA, France, China, Iran, Switzerland, India, Malaysia, Brazil, Italy, Singapore, Turkey, Hong Kong, China, etc. The exhibition attracted 30,000 trade visitors and is one of the most important auto shows in the Pakistan region.
**Market Introduction:**
According to Pakistan's automotive industry plan, 2005-2012 is the development phase for Pakistan's automotive industry, which aims to further enhance the level of the automotive industry under new industrial policies and competitive environments. In July 2006, the Pakistani government abolished the long-standing domestication plan and adopted the "tax base system" adapted to trade-related investment measures. This uses tariffs on whole vehicle imports (CBU) and key component imports to promote the assembly of complete vehicles and the domestic production of parts. According to data from the Competition Commission of Pakistan, the total investment in the Pakistani automotive industry in the 2009 fiscal year was $1.5 billion, providing 192,000 direct jobs and paying 63 billion rupees in taxes. Additionally, Pakistan's automotive industry has established a mature dealership system with over 500 dealers.
The President of Pakistan invited Toyota Tsusho to invest in the country. Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari recently invited Japanese automotive parts supplier Toyota Tsusho to invest in Pakistan, emphasizing that foreign investors are very safe in Pakistan. Zardari also mentioned the establishment of a special economic zone near Karachi for Japanese investors. He stated that Pakistan has skilled, low-cost labor and multiple export incentive policies, making it highly advantageous for foreign investors. Toyota Tsusho President Junzo Shimizu said they would invest in Pakistan's automotive parts industry.
