Yesterday (September 25), I went to a restaurant for dinner and saw a newlywed couple celebrating their wedding. I was puzzled because yesterday was the Yanggong忌day. Since many people don't know this, including some young people who are not aware of this matter. However, for those who don't consult auspicious days, using this day is fine, like Lin Zhiling. The key is to be cautious about half-space loss if someone has consulted an auspicious day but didn't eliminate this date, as most weddings require checking the date. Two years ago in the countryside, I met a very famous old man who set dates for people, and he spent a long time considering before finally setting a Yanggong忌day for someone. This was not favorable for the newlyweds. Therefore, we should also learn about these kinds of knowledge. Here, I will tell you all about it. Let's first talk about the origin of Yanggong忌day.
Legend one: It is said that in ancient times, there was a family surnamed Yang with thirteen sons, while their neighbor had no son. Thus, they often flaunted their fortune in front of their neighbor. The neighbor became angry and cursed them: "Don't be so arrogant! Life and death are predestined; who knows if your sons will live a hundred years?"
Yanggong laughed at the sky: "Ha ha! I have thirteen sons! Even if calamities occur, I'm not afraid! Even if heaven envies me and takes away one son each month, one son will remain to see me off!"
Unexpectedly, coincidentally, there was an epidemic that year, and coincidentally, it was a leap year. Yanggong's sons caught the plague, and the first son died on the thirteenth day of the first lunar month. Then, one by one, his sons passed away. By the end of the twelfth lunar month, all thirteen of Yanggong's sons were dead, leaving only him, leading to a very tragic old age. People say that Yanggong's fate was due to the big words he spoke himself. Also, the number thirteen was considered an unlucky number. For marriage celebrations, the thirteenth day of the lunar calendar was never used.
Later, it was said that the Tang Dynasty Feng Shui master Yang YunSong established the "Yanggong Thirteen Taboo Days" based on the "Twenty-Eight Lunar Mansions". These thirteen "taboo days" are the thirteenth day of the first lunar month, the eleventh day of the second lunar month, the ninth day of the third lunar month, the seventh day of the fourth lunar month, the fifth day of the fifth lunar month, the third day of the sixth lunar month, the first day of the seventh lunar month, the twenty-ninth day of the seventh lunar month, the twenty-seventh day of the eighth lunar month, the twenty-fifth day of the ninth lunar month, the twenty-third day of the tenth lunar month, the twenty-first day of the eleventh lunar month, and the nineteenth day of the twelfth lunar month. Historically, these thirteen days have been regarded as significant by Xuan Kong practitioners, who believe these days must not be chosen for grand openings, construction starts, weddings, or contract signings.
Legend two: Some say that "Yanggong忌Day" commemorates the Yang family generals of the Song Dynasty who resisted the Liao Dynasty. The Yang family general, Yang Laolingong, always won battles, except on a few days when he couldn't win. Later, it was summarized that Yanggong忌days were not suitable for battles. When this spread to the common people, these days were considered unsuitable for major events or visiting relatives...
The specific dates are:
Thirteenth day of the first lunar month, eleventh day of the second lunar month;
Ninth day of the third lunar month, seventh day of the fourth lunar month;
Fifth day of the fifth lunar month, third day of the sixth lunar month;
First day of the seventh lunar month, twenty-ninth day of the seventh lunar month;
Twenty-seventh day of the eighth lunar month, twenty-fifth day of the ninth lunar month,

Additionally, here is a "探病凶日" (Inauspicious Day for Visiting the Sick):
