SGIP Approves Three Standards for Official Inclusion in the Standards Catalog
The Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP) plenary meeting has unanimously agreed to include three standards in the official standards catalog.
These three standards are:
1. IEEE C37.238 Standard from the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). This standard applies the IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol in power systems, defining a common parameter file for the use of the IEEE1588-2008 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) in power system protection, control, automation, and data communication. In power communications, it uses Ethernet-based communication architecture for data transmission.
2. WS-Calendar. A shared scheduling communication mechanism used in energy trading that allows existing technical specifications and standards to adapt to scheduling needs, transmitting timetable information and event information between internal services.
3. SAE2847-1 Communication Standard for Plug-in Electric Vehicles and Utility Grids. This standard sets requirements and technical specifications for energy transfer between plug-in electric vehicles and the grid.
The inclusion of these three standards brings the total number of standards in the current catalog to nine.
