It is understood that last week, relevant departments in Fuzhou went to the Fuzhou tea market to inspect some shopkeepers. As a result, some unauthorized tea shops that used the packaging of Zhengshan Xiaozhong were confiscated, and the best tea from Guizhou was also affected. Just last month, the Fuzhou Agriculture Bureau and the Quality Supervision Bureau jointly inspected key sales areas of Fuzhou tea to check the use of geographical indications for Fuzhou jasmine tea. At that time, some tea shops were ordered to rectify due to improper use of Fuzhou jasmine tea packaging.

"Some large tea chain stores rarely violate regulations on tea packaging issues because they understand the importance of tea packaging for brand development. However, smaller tea shops lack the necessary strength and are unwilling to invest in packaging-related costs. Objectively, using generic packaging will lead to unauthorized use," according to Mr. Chen, an informed person. He also mentioned that the government is increasing its efforts to investigate violations of tea packaging regulations. Mr. Chen pointed out that last year, the government mainly investigated tea packaging sales stores in the tea market, aiming to eliminate irregularities in tea packaging sales at the source. This year, however, inspections have extended into tea shops to check for irregular use of tea packaging. This indicates that single-store tea shops in Fuzhou are inevitably facing a 'packaging crisis'.
