Postoperative care for intraocular lens implantation surgery: The only effective treatment for cataracts is surgical treatment. After modern cataract phacoemulsification + intraocular lens implantation surgery, patients with cataracts can immediately regain and improve their vision. While regaining their sight brings great joy to the patient, it is still necessary to monitor frequently to prevent complications from going untreated, which could lead to serious consequences.

Postoperative care for intraocular lens implantation surgery:

1. Mentally, one must take it seriously and not let down their guard, thinking that everything is fine after the surgery. The artificial lens implanted in the eye is still a foreign object and may sometimes cause certain complications. Therefore, observation should be strengthened, and protection should be paid attention to in order to avoid serious consequences.

2. After artificial lens implantation surgery, pay attention to whether there is pain in the operated eye, whether the position of the artificial lens is skewed or dislocated, whether there is inflammatory exudation in the anterior segment of the eye, and whether the iris and pupil have adhered, etc., as in excimer laser surgery.

3. Go to the hospital for a check-up once a week after the operation, including vision, anterior segment of the eye, lens implantation surgery, and fundus condition. Follow the doctor's advice for regular follow-ups after one month.

4. Avoid strenuous exercise three months after the lens implantation surgery, especially bending over movements, avoid excessive fatigue, and prevent colds.

5. Use steroid and antibiotic eye drops several times a day for one month after the operation, and use weaker mydriatic eye drops according to the doctor's advice to prevent pupil adhesion. For those who use steroid eye drops for a long time, pay attention to the intraocular pressure situation to avoid inducing steroid-induced glaucoma.

6. Keep the bowels moving smoothly, eat less stimulating food, quit smoking and drinking, and eat more fruits and vegetables.

7. Three months after the lens implantation surgery, go to the hospital for routine checks and refraction tests. If there are changes in refraction, corrective glasses can be prescribed after refraction testing. Generally, one can resume normal work and study one month after the lens implantation surgery.
