Diyuan Instruments: Enhancing "Precision" through Independent Innovation
Yesterday morning, at the calibration station of Zhejiang Diyuan Instruments Co., Ltd., several technical workers were conducting pre-delivery inspections on various flow meters.
Covering an area of more than 2000 square meters, this calibration station was built by "Diyuan Instruments" in 2002 and became the largest flow meter testing room in China at that time. The three large-scale testing facilities worth over 10 million yuan mainly handle the daily pre-delivery inspection tasks for flow meters.
When it comes to independent innovation, "Diyuan Instruments" began a significant technological transformation and upgrade as early as 2002, which has continued ever since.
Enhancing R&D and Innovation Capabilities through Multiple Channels
High education is a notable feature of "Diyuan Instruments" employees; among the 180 employees, more than 60% are college graduates or above, greatly promoting the company's technological development.
In the R&D center of the comprehensive office building of "Diyuan Instruments," 20 full-time R&D personnel are busy at their computers and small test platforms. They are all top talents graduated from various universities. Since the R&D center was awarded the "Provincial Level" title in 2002, these R&D personnel have completed multiple provincial and municipal research projects each year, making "Diyuan Instruments" a testing ground for new products and technologies in flow meters within the province.
"We have established a close technical cooperation relationship with Shanghai University, through which we can grasp the most cutting-edge technology and entrust them with solving difficult problems encountered during production," said Sun Xiangdong, vice general manager. Since 2006, the strong team composed of nearly 30 Ph.D.s and masters from Shanghai University has provided powerful technical support to the company.
Additionally, "Diyuan Instruments" has also conducted strategic cooperation with the American Foxboro Company, jointly developing several types of flow meters that can fully meet the needs of mid-to-high-end customers overseas.
After years of technological innovation and independent R&D, "Diyuan Instruments" has achieved fruitful results in R&D, obtaining one national invention patent and eight utility model patents, winning the first and second prizes of scientific progress in Zhejiang Province, having one R&D project listed in the National Torch Program, two listed in the National Key New Product Plan, and five listed in the Zhejiang Provincial Key Scientific Research Plan.
Production Technology Approaching World-Class Levels
Currently, "Diyuan Instruments" offers over ten thousand specifications of flow measurement instruments across 15 major categories, including electromagnetic flow meters, vortex flow meters, rotameters, and ultrasonic flow meters. Its sales network radiates throughout the country, covering industries such as petrochemicals, metallurgy, pharmaceuticals, environmental protection, and thermal power. The extensive sales network benefits from the fact that "Diyuan Instruments'" technology has approached world-class levels.
After passing the EU CE Mark PED certification for pressure equipment, the YYK orifice throttling device of "Diyuan Instruments" was selected by the large multinational company, Air Liquide France, and both parties signed a long-term supply cooperation agreement. Additionally, the YYD-FOX electromagnetic flow meter developed by "Diyuan Instruments" using the latest technology introduced from the American Foxboro Company enjoys a good reputation in the Asia-Pacific region.
"What makes us proudest is the successful independent development of the YYD electromagnetic flow meter, which owns five patented technologies and can meet the control, measurement, and management needs of various national economic industries," Sun Xiangdong introduced. The highest accuracy level for this type of flow meter in the world is class 0.25, and the ones currently produced by the company have reached class 0.3, very close to the world's highest level. Sun Xiangdong said that the company's sales this year are expected to break through 100 million yuan.
