The road to the village of "Dog Shit Fort" has been completed, but the unsightly name of the fort greatly saddened the villagers. For this reason, the villagers decided to change the name of the fort. On November 2, 2011, villager Luo Yuanyi, entrusted by the villagers, returned to the Public Security Bureau of Duyun City and presented the "Invitation Letter for Changing the Name of the Fort" signed and stamped by 69 villagers to Director Xu Yanhong and Political Commissar Li Yongxiang of the Duyun City Public Security Bureau, earnestly requesting the Duyun City Public Security Bureau to help change the old name of the fort.

"Jinxin Fort"

By late May 2011, after the continuous efforts of 351 villagers, the "Dog Shit Fort" finally had a paved road.

"Dog Shit Fort" currently has 63 households and 285 people, with an annual per capita income of only 2800 yuan, which is less than 70% of the average income level of the entire village. In recent years, in accordance with the unified arrangements of the Party building poverty alleviation and the "Four Assistance Four Promotion" activities of the Duyun Municipal Party Committee, Government, and the Public Security Bureau of Qiannan Prefecture, Taohua Village was identified as the Party building assistance point of the Duyun City Public Security Bureau. To quickly help the villagers escape poverty, after multiple discussions between the Duyun City Public Security Bureau Party Committee and the Taohua Village Committee, they came up with the development strategy of "to get rich, one must first build roads." They mobilized the police officers to donate 25,000 yuan and contributed 10 tons of cement, encouraging all the villagers to work voluntarily, thus undertaking the construction project of the road connecting the village of "Dog Shit Fort." Later, the Duyun City Public Security Bureau actively coordinated and secured national funding for the "One Matter One Discussion" reward project for the road connecting the village of "Dog Shit Fort."

To quickly meet the villagers' wishes, the Duyun City Public Security Bureau issued an appeal to all police officers for suggestions on renaming the village. By the end of December 2011, 27 grassroots units proposed over 60 new names for "Dog Shit Fort."

In November 2011, when the Provincial Department of Public Security inspection team was guiding the "Four Assistance Four Promotion" work in Qiannan Prefecture, they learned about the villagers of Taohua Village's "Dog Shit Fort" desiring to change the name of their village. Secretary Cui Yadong of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Provincial Political and Legal Affairs Commission, upon learning about this situation, paid great attention to changing the name of "Dog Shit Fort."

On January 17, Secretary Cui Yadong specially went to Wangsi Town in Duyun to unveil the new plaque with the new name for "Dog Shit Fort."

At the provincial public security chiefs meeting held on January 7, 2012, choosing a new name for "Dog Shit Fort" was also discussed as a special topic. After widely listening to the suggestions from participating leaders, Secretary Cui Yadong personally selected the new name "Jinxin Fort" for "Dog Shit Fort." The meaning behind it: "Our police (phonetically similar to 'jin') are heart-to-heart (phonetically similar to 'xin') with the masses"; wishing the ninth and tenth groups of Taohua Village to have a more prosperous village and happier villagers.

On the evening of January 11, Secretary Cui Yadong specially invited Mr. Guo Jialin, a member of the council of the Calligraphers Association and a famous calligrapher, to write the new name "Jinxin Fort." Approved by the Duyun Civil Affairs Bureau Naming Office on January 13, 2012, "Dog Shit Fort" was officially renamed to "Jinxin Fort."

"Dog Shit Fort" was originally the residence of the ninth and eleventh groups of Taohua Village in Wangsi Town, Duyun City. Located in a large mountain hollow at the border of Duyun, Sandu, and Danzhai County in Qiandongnan Prefecture, it has steep slopes and no vehicle access. According to local villagers, due to its remote location and poor accessibility, outsiders rarely visited; only dogs would come to defecate here, hence it was called "Dog Shit Fort."
