**Striving for 100 Fortune Global 500 Companies to Settle in Zhengdong New Area**
People who have visited the Central Business District (CBD) of Zhengdong New Area can all recall its strong urban atmosphere. In a few years, every provincial-level city in Henan will have such a central business functional zone. Yesterday, the provincial government announced the "Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Development of Central Business Functional Zones and Special Commercial Zones," proposing that each city formulate relevant supportive policies.
According to the plan, by 2015, the Central Business District of Zhengdong New Area will become a high-end service platform for the Central Plains Economic Zone. Each provincial-level city and county (city) not included in the central city cluster will form one central business functional zone. Each district of provincial-level cities and counties (county-level cities) included in the central city cluster will cultivate one advanced, distinctive, significantly clustered, and prominent special commercial zone, becoming a new growth point for the economic development of urban areas.
By 2020, the Central Business District of Zhengdong New Area will become a highland for the gathering development of high-end services in central and western China, with the comprehensive service functions of central business functional zones in various cities and counties significantly improved. The Central Business District of Zhengdong New Area aims to attract 100 Fortune Global 500 companies, 100 domestic top 500 companies, and 150 financial institutions, constructing a regional financial center, headquarters economy center, high-end business and commerce center, and comprehensive exhibition center based in Zhengzhou, serving the Central Plains, and radiating to central and western China.
Additionally, when building central business functional zones in each provincial-level city, they should, in principle, be combined with new area construction, highlighting comprehensive business service functions. At the same time, guide provincial financial insurance branches, local financial institutions, and local investment and financing platforms to settle in, improving the level of financial clustering services. Promote the settlement of well-known domestic enterprise branches, operation centers, and local enterprise headquarters.
