Only 38% of Wenzhou clothing passed quality inspection

This spot check carried out a special quality supervision spot check on a total of 81 batches of clothing from 22 distribution units, including Wenzhou Wealth Center, Wenzhou Kaitai, Wenzhou Yintai, etc. After inspection, 31 batches were qualified and 50 batches were unqualified, with a pass rate of 38%. Unqualified products involved well-known fashion apparel brands such as "MANGO", "Fiveplus", "izzue", "ebase (Yibense)", "miamia", "SELECTED (SLEDE)" and others. The scale of product production enterprises involved in this spot check is relatively large. The randomly selected products are mainly brand-operated, and the product level is relatively high, but the quality of the products is not optimistic. Unqualified items involve color fastness, pH value, fiber content, pilling, formaldehyde, dichloromethane, labels, etc. Among them, 25 batches of products have unqualified color fastness items such as sweat resistance, abrasion resistance, and light resistance, accounting for 30% of the total number of inspected products. The reason is that manufacturers use low-grade dyes, and the post-finishing treatment is not clean. Manufacturers lack effective management, and products have not been strictly inspected; 8 batches of products have unqualified pH values, accounting for 0.09% of the total number of inspected products. The reason lies in improper dyeing process treatment by enterprises or the use of low-grade bleaching agents; 19 batches of fiber content (components) are unqualified, accounting for 23% of the total number of inspected products; 11 batches of annotations are unqualified, accounting for 13% of the total number of inspected products; one batch has unqualified pilling, the reason being that the quality of raw materials does not meet the standard; one batch has unqualified formaldehyde content; two batches have unqualified dichloromethane content. Such cases mainly appear in wool and cashmere products. The main reason is that, in order to highlight the smooth and soft characteristics, enterprises over-add additives or softeners in raw materials and finished products.
