In 2002 and 2005, Chengde Mountain Resort conducted HFRS (Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome) monitoring and biological safety evaluations. To ensure that non-native species were not affected and to prevent the introduction of new natural disease foci, necessary sanitization was carried out only after animals moved in. When animals moved out, inspection and quarantine were again performed on them to avoid animal migration becoming a transmission mode for natural disease foci.
On May 14, 2008, during the first S phase, Hebei Medical (HEBElMEDICINE Vo1.14, No. S May, 2OO8), simultaneously introduced quarantine measures for animals. According to the requirements of HFRS prevention work, propaganda for the masses was strengthened, training for primary clinic staff was enhanced, and monitoring efforts in scenic spots were increased to grasp the epidemic dynamics among rodents, guiding human outbreak prevention and control. Additionally, active rat eradication was carried out, keeping the rat density within a relatively safe range.
