He Ruishi said that the day of the rescue was when he returned home for two days to prepare for the college entrance exam. He wanted to relieve some inner pressure before the exam, so he went fishing at the pit near his house with his younger brother. The three brothers, who grew up by the river, were all relatively familiar with swimming.
After hearing the cries for help, He Ruishi and He Shuoshi quickly ran to the edge of the pit to save the children. He Sweden said that at the time, they could see five children struggling on the water surface, one of whom was floating on the water and could not move. Due to the deep water and steep slope, He Ruishi drank several mouthfuls of water and had difficulty pushing the five children to the shore. The age of He Shuoshi is relatively young, being 14 years old, studying at Luozhuang Town No.1 Middle School, and is an eighth-grade student. At around 5 p.m. on June 4, seven teenagers from Luozhuang Town in Xia County were playing by a pit formed by soil extraction at an abandoned brick factory and accidentally fell into the water-filled pit. Hearing the cries for help, He Ruishi, He Sweden, and He Shuoshi rushed over without hesitation and successfully saved five teenagers. Later, it was discovered that these three selfless heroes were students from different classes at Xia County High School and Xia County Luozhuang Town No.1 Middle School.
