The defendant Wang Yuancai gestured in the court and said that he was unwilling to beat people and was forcibly dragged by his fellow townsman.

Because of helping his friend Wang Zhao to vent his anger, Wang Yuancai and three others beat Huang to death. This morning, Wang Yuancai was tried at the No. 2 Intermediate People's Court on suspicion of intentional injury.
The prosecution charged that at 1 a.m. on March 26, 2005, Wang Zhao gathered Yang, Cao, Wang Yuancai and others to go to the temporary residence of Huang in Zhouzhuang Village, Shili Store Township, Chaoyang District. They beat Huang to death due to multiple rib fractures and spleen rupture because Huang had flirted with Wang Zhao's wife. After the incident, Wang Yuancai fled and surrendered on August 14, 2011.
Wang Yuancai, aged 41, is from Henan Province. He said that he just came to Beijing to rely on his friends in the month when the incident happened. Coincidentally, his friend was not there, so he found Wang Zhao from the same village.
"On the day of the incident, Wang Zhao told me that Huang had flirted with his wife, and he would go to talk to Huang, and let me go with him."
"I don't know Huang, I didn't want to go at first, but I couldn't resist Wang Zhao's persuasion." Wang Yuancai said.
"Wang Zhao forced me to go. When we arrived at Huang's place, Wang Zhao beat him, and I just slapped him." Later, Huang said he would pay compensation instead of being beaten anymore, and said he had heart disease. "I was afraid and walked out of the room. I hit him because I was angry at that time, who made him flirt with someone else's wife." Wang Yuancai said.
Wang Yuancai said that he ran away when he heard that Huang was dead the next day. In 2011, he saw notices everywhere on the street saying that those who surrender can be lightly sentenced. Missing home and thinking that he should give an account, he turned himself in.
It is understood that the other three people involved in this case have already been sentenced. Among them, Wang Zhao was sentenced to 15 years in prison, while Yang and Cao were sentenced to 12 and 13 years in prison respectively.
