Not long ago, two projects of the Film Research Institute, "Research on Automatic Restoration of Film Digital Restoration - Flicker Issues" and "Special Control Protocol for Connecting Digital Projectors Used in Rural Public Welfare Screenings of Digital Films", passed the appraisal of the Department of Science and Technology. The "Film Digital Restoration - Research on Automatic Restoration of Flicker Issues" project developed a set of software for automatically restoring flicker problems in films using its self-developed restoration algorithm. It can eliminate flicker issues while maintaining image quality, and has obvious effects on handling flicker in certain special scenes, reaching international advanced levels. It has significant practical significance and application value for promoting the smooth implementation of digital restoration projects for film archives in our country. The "Special Control Protocol for Connecting Digital Projectors Used in Rural Public Welfare Screenings of Digital Films" project achieved the function of limiting other playback equipment such as DVD players from playing image signals in rural digital screening equipment without increasing hardware costs or changing the current screening operation methods. This has important implications for ensuring the smooth implementation of the rural film digital screening project.
