Wang Zhe: Making 8000 Euros a Month by Running a Chinese Restaurant in Spain

Personal Experience: Originally a photographer, in the year 2000, I quit my job in Shanghai and went to Spain. I have worked as a dishwasher in a Chinese restaurant, a waiter in a Japanese restaurant, and a chef in a Hong Kong restaurant and a sushi bar in Spain. In June 2005, I took over a Japanese restaurant through a rent-to-own agreement and started my own business.

This time, Wang Zhe specially returned to Shanghai from Barcelona after temporarily closing his restaurant there, to accomplish a major event in his life - getting married. With the initial success of his career and the joy of his new marriage, Wang Zhe, who has just passed thirty, was especially spirited. When he met the journalist, he took out a beautifully made photo album, which turned out to be a menu. Each dish had a beautiful photo beside it, along with its name in Spanish and the price in Euros.

"This is the menu I specially made in Shanghai. It only costs 250 yuan per book. If I were to make it in Barcelona, the price would be exorbitantly high," Wang Zhe told the reporter. Leaving for a foreign country and enduring difficult working conditions

Before going to Spain, Wang Zhe was a photographer with a stable and considerable income. In order to reunite with his girlfriend far away in Barcelona, in July 2000, Wang Zhe resolutely quit his job in Shanghai and traveled alone to Barcelona.
