Henan man Miao Tongjin met a waitress named Xiaoyu while entertaining at a KTV. Upon learning that Miao Tongjin was very wealthy, Xiaoyu's boyfriend conspired with Xiaoyu and her friends to trick Miao Tongjin into coming to Xiaoyu's rented apartment where they kidnapped and robbed him of over 24,000 yuan in cash. Fearing that Miao Tongjin would report the crime to the police, they killed him, dismembered his body, placed it in a suitcase, and buried it deep in a filled-in well near Chunyuan Road.

On May 23, the five suspects were arrested. On the morning of May 24, the police escorted the suspects and dug up the victim's body from the well.

At the scene: A suitcase containing the body was dug out from the well. On April 27, a man came to the Kuiwen Public Security Bureau's criminal investigation team to report that his younger brother, Miao Tongjin, had been missing for half a month. Through investigation, the police discovered that all the cash in Miao Tongjin's bank card had been withdrawn, suggesting possible kidnapping. After reviewing the ATM surveillance footage, the police found a "long-haired man" who had used Miao Tongjin's bank card to withdraw money. Simultaneously, the police found that a woman named Xiaoyu had close contact with Miao Tongjin. Investigations revealed that Xiaoyu and the "long-haired man" were a couple.

Subsequently, based on these two leads, the police tracked the whereabouts of the five suspects involved. On May 23, the officers of the Kuiwen Public Security Bureau took action, arresting the five suspects separately at Xiaoyu's residence, Bai Lang River Wetland Park, and Binhai Development Zone. After interrogation, the suspects confessed that Miao Tongjin had been murdered and buried.

On the morning of May 24 at around 9 o'clock, the police of the Kuiwen Public Security Bureau escorted one of the suspects, Diao Wenhui, driving to a wheat field near the south-west side of the Weifang Meteorological Bureau and Daxujia Village, stopping in front of a filled-in well.

Diao Wenhui said that the murdered man, Miao Tongjin, was buried here. At the time, they spent forty minutes digging until they were exhausted before placing the box inside. Afterwards, they deliberately selected a larger stone to press on top of the box.

Since the body was buried very deep, to avoid damaging the box and its contents during excavation, six police officers took turns digging for more than half an hour before lifting the suitcase out of the well.

The journalist observed that this was a large suitcase, over a meter high, half a meter long, and twenty centimeters wide. The case was gray-brown and covered in soil.

Subsequently, the forensic expert opened the box and found the dismembered body of a male. The police also dug out a woven bag from the well, which contained dozens of blood-stained clothes. According to Diao Wenhui's confession, these were Xiaoyu's clothes, used to wipe off the blood after killing Miao Tongjin.

Reason: Boss falls into a trap due to dating. Nineteen-year-old Xiaoyu is from Anqiu. In October 2010, she met through QQ a nineteen-year-old man from Lai Zhou working in Weifang named Sun Yunwei. After establishing a romantic relationship, Xiaoyu moved from Anqiu to Weifang, living together with Sun Yunwei, and worked as a waitress in a hotel KTV in Weicheng District.

In March 2011, Xiaoyu met Henan man Miao Tongjin while providing service at the KTV. That night, Miao Tongjin repeatedly told Xiaoyu how rich he was, owning factories in various places including Weifang city and Zhucheng, with a monthly net income of two or three hundred thousand yuan. According to Xiaoyu's confession, Miao Tongjin was very interested in her and wanted to date her, maintaining close contact.

Unintentional words caught Xiaoyu's attention. While chatting with her boyfriend, she mentioned this incident. Unemployed Sun Yunwei, short of money, planned with his fellow townsman Sun Zheming, Sun Haolong, and friend Diao Wenhui to get some money. Thus, they targeted the wealthy Henan boss.

They devised a plan, letting Xiaoyu lure Miao Tongjin to their rented apartment. When the two were being intimate, they would rush in pretending to collect debts from Xiaoyu's brother-in-law, then extort money.

Before committing the crime, Sun Yunwei et al. made detailed plans. They specifically got Xiaoyu a new SIM card for her to communicate with Miao Tongjin. Meanwhile, Sun Yunwei et al. bought syringes, batons, Gillette double-edged razor blades, fruit knives, nylon ropes, and other tools for the crime, waiting for the opportunity.

On the afternoon of April 13, Xiaoyu received a text message from Miao Tongjin saying he would return to Weifang the next morning and asked Xiaoyu to pick him up. Initially, Xiaoyu declined, but on the evening of April 14, when Miao Tongjin called Xiaoyu looking for her, Xiaoyu took a taxi to meet Miao Tongjin at the intersection of Chaoyang Road and Shengli Street.

Afterward, the two took a taxi to Xiaoyu's place. Since Xiaoyu had previously told Miao Tongjin that she lived with her sister and brother-in-law who had returned to their hometown recently leaving her alone, the two went into Xiaoyu's bedroom and lay down affectionately.

Meanwhile, Sun Yunwei and the other four had secretly followed them back to the residence. After calculating the right moment, Sun Yunwei used the key to open the door, and the four rushed into the bedroom, catching the two "in flagrante delicto." Xiaoyu screamed and fled into the bathroom.

To make the act convincing, Diao Wenhui entered the bathroom and tied up Xiaoyu as well. The other three bound Miao Tongjin.

Case details: Suspects kill after obtaining money

Miao Tongjin was terrified by the sudden turn of events and kept begging for mercy. Sun Yunwei lied, claiming they were there to collect debts from Xiaoyu's brother-in-law, and since they couldn't find him, they demanded Miao Tongjin pay 100,000 yuan instead. Hearing this, Miao Tongjin was shocked, repeatedly stating he didn't have that much money.

Sun Yunwei et al. searched Miao Tongjin and took out thousands of yuan in cash from his wallet. Inside were two bank cards, and they forced Miao Tongjin to reveal the passwords. One card had over ten thousand yuan, the other eight or nine thousand.

Subsequently, Sun Yunwei took the bank cards to withdraw money. To avoid detection, he wore a wig belonging to his ex-girlfriend and withdrew 19,000 plus yuan in nine separate transactions from the ATMs.

After withdrawing the money, fearing Miao Tongjin would report the crime, Sun Yunwei et al. decided to kill him.

They covered Miao Tongjin's mouth and nose, intending to suffocate him. However, he struggled fiercely. Later, Sun Haolong injected air and saline mixed with cigarette ash into Miao Tongjin's right arm using a needle. Sun Yunwei, holding the fruit knife backwards, stabbed Miao Tongjin in the abdomen and slashed his neck. Miao Tongjin was eventually killed.

After the murder, the five calmly placed Miao Tongjin's body in the storage room and then went to a bath center to spend the night. On the evening of April 15, they bought a suitcase, and Diao Wenhui used a machete and saw to cut the body in half, placing it inside the suitcase. Then, they drove to a wheat field near Chunyuan Road and buried Miao Tongjin in an abandoned well.

On May 24, the reporter learned that Sun Yunwei and the other five suspects had been legally criminally detained, and the case was under further investigation.
