Panasonic Air Conditioner Method for Determining Optimal Refrigerant Charge

We can make a comprehensive judgment from three aspects:

1. Measure pressure: Operate the air conditioner in high-speed wind cooling mode (summer) or forced cooling mode (winter). When the air conditioner is functioning well, the low-pressure system should be 0.45~0.50MPa (summer) or 0.2~0.25MPa (winter). If the pressure is too high, it indicates that the Freon charge is excessive; conversely, it is insufficient.

2. Measure current: Operate the air conditioner in high-speed wind cooling or heating mode. Use a clamp-on ammeter to monitor the current reading of the air conditioner power line. The operating current reading should be equal to the rated working current value marked on the air conditioner nameplate. In general, when the air conditioner is running in cooling mode, with an outdoor unit environmental temperature of 35℃ as the standard, for every 1℃ increase or decrease in outdoor temperature, the actual operating current value increases or decreases by 1.4% based on the rated working current. In heating mode, with an outdoor unit environmental temperature of 7℃ as the standard, for every 1℃ increase or decrease in outdoor temperature, the actual operating current value increases or decreases by 1% based on the rated working current.

3. Observe effect: Operate the air conditioner in high-speed wind cooling or heating mode. When the amount of added Freon is accurate, the temperature difference at 10cm from the inlet and outlet of the indoor heat exchanger is less than 12℃ during cooling and greater than 16℃ during heating. During cooling, the indoor evaporator is completely covered with dew, there is dew at the outdoor shutoff valve, condensate drips continuously, and there is no frost but dew at the connection between the indoor evaporator and the capillary tube; during heating, the indoor condenser temperature is greater than 40℃. In practical Freon addition operations, the main focus is on measuring current, supplemented by measuring pressure, while also considering the observation of effects.
