Spring Lan Air Conditioning Repair Q&A; What is the function of a two-way solenoid valve?

Edited and organized by the Spring Lan Air Conditioning After-sales Service Center in Beijing on September 23, 2011.

A two-way solenoid valve, also known as a two-way valve, is commonly used in cooling and heating dehumidifying air conditioners. It can either conduct or cut off the circulation channel of the refrigerant. The main components of a two-way solenoid valve include a coil, spring, and plunger. When there is no current flowing through the coil of the two-way solenoid valve, the plunger moves down under the pressure of the spring, cutting off the refrigerant circulation channel; when there is current flowing through the coil of the two-way solenoid valve, the plunger is lifted up by electromagnetic force, overcoming the pressure of the spring, and the refrigerant circulation channel is conducted. The two-way solenoid valve is connected between the exhaust port and suction port of the compressor, and generally works during the energy-saving operation or dehumidification operation of the air conditioner. When the two-way solenoid valve is conducted, part of the refrigerant from the compressor's exhaust port returns to the suction port of the compressor, reducing the operating load of the compressor, decreasing the system's cooling capacity, and achieving the purpose of energy saving or dehumidification.
