Prevention and Treatment Methods:
(1) Remove moldy food, provide fresh live food, maintain hygiene in the breeding tank, and disinfect.
(2) Adjust the temperature and humidity in the breeding tank, keep it ventilated and dry.
(3) For diseased centipedes, use penicillin (0.25 grams dissolved in 1 kilogram of water) for spray disinfection or add water for drinking.
(4) Use a mixture of 0.6 grams of yeast tablets, 0.25 grams of oxytetracycline, and 0.25 grams of chloramphenicol ground into powder, mixed with 400 grams of feed, fed until recovery.
### 2. Abdominal Swelling Disease: Centipedes often contract this disease during the autumn rainy and low-temperature period, mostly caused by overeating and low temperatures. In the early stages, the head of the diseased centipede turns purplish-red, the venom hooks are fully extended, they stop eating or eat very little, the abdomen swells, movements become slow, and they die about a week after contracting the disease.
Prevention and Treatment Methods:
(1) Use 1 gram of yeast tablet dissolved in 500 grams of water, let them suck it up, and increase the temperature.
(2) Grind 0.5 sulfonamide tablets and mix with 300 grams of feed; you can also use 0.25 grams of chloramphenicol mixed with 300 grams of feed, fed every other day until recovery.
### 3. Molting Disease: Caused by the centipede's habitat being too humid, allowing fungi to parasitize on the body. Initially, there is restlessness and constant movement; later, weakness and slow movement occur, ultimately leading to death due to refusal to eat and move.
Prevention and Treatment Methods:
Mix 0.25 grams of oxytetracycline, 0.6 grams of yeast tablet, and 1 gram of calcium tablet ground into fine powder with 400 grams of feed, fed continuously until recovery.
### 4. Ant Infestation: During molting or egg-laying and hatching periods, centipedes' resistance is weak. If ants enter, they will attack in groups, biting molting centipedes to death or causing female centipedes to abandon their eggs and escape.
Prevention and Treatment Methods:
(1) Dig a moat around the breeding tank, fill it with water to prevent ants from entering.
(2) Lure ants away with fruit or other sweet foods and scald them with boiling water.
### 5. Miscarriage: Pregnant centipedes may miscarry due to disturbances, handling, noise, or direct stimulation by foreign objects. Therefore, during pregnancy, peace should be maintained, and they should not be handled frequently.
